Mountain Chickadees

Mountain Chickadees are the delight of coniferous forests. Their fiesty attitude and friendly nature make them a well-known and well-loved bird recognized by most people. These birds communicate "danger" with the number of "dee-dee-dee" notes in their call. More dangerous predators, such as a Cooper's Hawk, get more "dee" notes than less dangerous intruders such as a dog or human.
