Mandarin Amongst the Reeds

The striking Mandarin duck is arguably one of the most beautiful duck species in the world. Native to East Asia, this species has been bred in captivity and can occasionally be found escaped in the wild across North America. It is closely related to the wood duck although slightly smaller in size. This duck was a joy to illustrate due to the bright colors and patterns.
