Ghost Magpie

Colorful and mischievous, Black-billed Magpies are often vilified as pesky birds. But their intelligence and beauty have always made them one of my favorite birds, even though they are so common in the western US. This feather study was fun to do as I sought to capture the individual brilliance and metallic sheen of the various feathers that make up this beautiful bird.
