Black Rosy-finch Study

North America's highest elevational breeding songbird, the Black Rosy-finch inhabits  alpine zones in the western United States. Seldom seen and difficult to study, due to the harsh and rugged habitat, the Black Rosy-finch is a true alpine species and does not breed anywhere else. Research in Idaho, Colorado, Utah and other western states is beginning to focus on this bird to discover basic elements of their life history and how climate change may be impacting their biology and habitat.
