Belted Female Kingfisher

Belted Kingfisher male and females can be identified because of their color patterns. Interestingly, it is the female that is more brightly colored with a red "belt" compared to the male who is just blue on blue for his "belt". These enigmatic birds can be observed perched on power-lines peering intently down at the waters below before diving headfirst after small fish.
